Abstract

1,141,066. Laminated door. WEYERHAEUSER CO. 1 Feb., 1966, No. 4407/66. Heading B5N. [Also in Division E1] A fire-resistant door has a panel having a fire-proof mineral core 2, constructed by tongue and groove blocks 3, 4 and surrounded by stiles 6, 7 and rails 5, 8, the stiles and rails and core being covered by a fire-proof veneer. Panel 9, the grain of which runs transversely across the door, is laminated thereto and to a decorative panel, and when the panel bears against the door stop on the door frame, there is an overlap between the stop and the core whereby upon destruction of the stiles 6, 7 by fire, the core 3 will still bear against the door stop. The lower rail 5 consists of a laminate of two layers 5, 5<SP>1</SP>. The stiles and rails have grooves to engage ribs on the core.
