Abstract

1,140,324. Refuse receptacle. BREMSHEY & CO. 25 July, 1967 [22 Oct., 1966], No. 34069/67. Heading A4A. A refuse receptacle useful as a work support comprises two upright wall portions 4 and 5 fixed together along one of their respective lateral sides 6 and a base portion 1, preferably in the shape of a sector of a circle, of foldable material having two straight edges 2 and 3 respectively co-extensive with and joined to the bottom edges of said wall portions so that the lines of said straight edges intersect the axis about which said wall portions are hingeable, the arrangement being such that the wall portions are movable about said axis from a collapsed position, Fig. 2, in which they are substantially in parallel planes with said base portion folded upward along a line of weakness 7 between said wall portions to an operative position in which the base is stretched substantially flat in a horizontal plane between the wall portions and the later have a maximum angular relationship determined by the dimensions of the base portion. The receptacle may be held in the folded position by means of a tag 8 or a band 9. The interiorly presented faces of the base and upright walls may be lined with a detachable lining - preferably made of waterproof paper. The lining may be releasably attached by staples or stitches to the base and walls. The linings may be in the form of a number of superimposed layers having a common perforation so that the linings may be removed in sequence. The refuse receptacle may be provided with a number of blocks of linings and each block may be attached to the refuse receptacle by means of glue applied to the edges or by means of a removable covering or wrapping layer.
