Abstract

1,139,504. Head-rests for seats. K. LILLESO. 2 March, 1966 [5 March, 1965; 18 Oct., 1965], Nos. 9409/65 and 44068/65. Heading A4J. The carrier frame 14, for a head-rest cushion 10, is angularly adjustable, by means of a mechanism wholly enclosed in the cushion 10, so as to vary the inclination of the head-supporting surface. Limbs 18 and 20 of frame 14 can be sprung inwardly towards one another, on pressing knob 42, so as to withdraw pin 34 from a hole in plate 32 and allow a new position of adjustment to be selected. On releasing the knob 42, pin 34 enters the appropriate hole in the plate 32, which remains fixed to members 26 and 30. In a modification (Fig. 7, not shown) members 24 and 26 may be vertically adjusted with respect to members 28 and 30, respectively. A cushion of foam plastic material, having a denser core portion is described.
