Abstract

1,138,363. Mineral-mining setter drums. T. G. CLARKE. 28 Oct., 1966 [30 July, 1965; 16 Sept., 1965], Nos. 18192/65 and 39544/65. Heading E1F. The pick box-carrying helix or helices 4 of a cutter drum are supported about a drivable sleeve 1 by rods 3 extending between the sleeve and the helix or helices, which is or are of opposite hand to a loading scroll 6 extending between the sleeve and the helix or helices. The drum may be used for loading only by the fitting of extension pieces 14 to the exposed outer edge of the scroll, the pieces 14 extending radially to beyond the pick boxes from which the picks are removed when the drum is used for loading only.
