Abstract
1,137,452. Steam turbine power plant. BABCOCK & WILCOX Ltd. June 7, 1967 [June 7, 1966; July 15, 1966], No.26237/67. Headings F1Q and F1T. In a steam power plant including a forced flow boiler having a first heat exchange section B and a second heat exchange section A in a higher temperature zone, a high pressure turbine 16 connected to receive fluid from the discharge side of the second section and a low-pressure turbine 18 interconnected to the high-pressure turbine in fluid flow relationship through a reheater means 17, the reheater means is connected to receive as heating medium fluid from the first section and to return the fluid to the second section. A heat exchanger 33 may be disposed below a liquid level of a de-aerator vessel 30, the heat exchanger being connected at one end to the feed water source 25 and at its offesed end to the steam space of the vessel so that the output of heating fluid to the reheater means can be raised. In a modification an expansion vessel is disposed in the flow path connecting the reheater means to the inlet side of the second section, the expansion vessel being connected in turn to a conduit arranged to convey steam from the high-pressure turbine to the reheater means.- A tubular heat exchanger may be disposed in the vessel below its liquid level, the heat exchanger being connected to the reheater means and the inlet side of the second section.
