Abstract

1,136,466. Upholstery. ETABS. BERTRAND FAURE. 4 May, 1967 [5 May, 1966], No. 20748/67. Heading A4M. A seat or mattress of foamed plastics contains independently inflatable bags 3-6 each having an inflating tube 3a-6a which issues from the rear of the unit, two elongate bags 3, 5 being located along the side edge, one bag 4 being located along the front edge and the other bag 6 comprising a plurality of vessels disposed side by side and parallel to the side edges. A central part 1 and a U-shaped peripheral part 2 may each be moulded in one piece with the bags 3-6 being embedded during the moulding. Alternatively (Fig. 3) each part 1, 2 may comprise initially separate upper and lower halves with complementary grooves, the halves being subsequently stuck together at their interfaces (7, 8) so that the grooves co-operate to define cavities to receives the bags 3-6.
