Abstract

1,136,206. Coating apparatus. AMERICAN PIPE & CONSTRUCTION CO. 20 May, 1967 No. 23544/67. Heading B2L. Guide means for centering a pipe traversing machine (e.g. a coating machine) within a pipe line comprises a bracket support 22 mounted on the machine, a plurality of said brackets 25 mounted for rocking movement at their inner ends on the support 22 in circumferentially spaced relation, the brackets extending rearwardly and radially outward of the machine, a wheel 26 at the free outer end of each bracket, and spring means 34 associated with said brackets and said support permitting but resisting rocking movement of the free ends of the brackets inwardly toward the longitudinal axis of the machine. The device may further include a trailing assembly 40 consisting of rods 41 between the support ring 22 and an annular mounting ring 48 which supports a plurality of guide springs 50 in circumferentially spaced relation. The ring 48 also serves to support a conduit section 49 having a coupling fitting 49', through which mortar or other pipe lining material is conveyed to the distributor head 14 which, in operation, is rotated by a motor 13.
