Abstract

1,135,792. Endless conveyers. A. K. McCOMBIE. 8 March, 1966 [9 March, 1965], No. 9844/65. Heading B8A. Cigarettes are fed from a first endless conveyer 1 to a second endless conveyer 6 which extends in a direction oblique in relation to the conveyer 1, the transition being effected by an intermediate third endless conveyer 11 which is constrained to move in an arcuate direction. The upper run of conveyer 11 is constrained by a curved groove 17 in a table 18. The lower run passes through a curved tubular member (19) (Figs. 2 and 3, not shown). Bridging plates (20) and (21), connect the conveyers 1, 11, and 11, 6, respectively. The conveyer 1 runs at three times the speed of the conveyer 11 thus causing the cigarettes to form three heaped layers on the latter conveyer. The conveyer 6 comprises opposed belts 7, (22), of foam rubber.
