Abstract
1,135,727. Drainage device. KENDALL CO. 5 May, 1967 [9 May, 1966], No. 21063/67. Heading A5R. A drainage tube 10 is provided with a vacuum-breaking device 22 comprising a bacteria filter 24 and air inlet channel 23 having at least one slit-like opening 25 which permits air to enter the drainage tube via the filter but prevents liquids being drained from passing through to the filter. The air inlet channel may be provided with fins to prevent it from contacting the walls of the housing 18. The bacteria filter may comprise a plug of fibrous material e.g. cotton. The drainage tube may be provided with an inflatable retention portion 28.
