Abstract

1,135,499. Load handling. CASCADE CORP. 23 Nov., 1967 [17 July, 1967], No. 53299/67. Heading B8H. A load pusher attachment 10 for a lift truck (not shown) comprises an upright frame 12 (see Fig. 2, a side elevation), a movable pusher 14 and a pair of folding arm assemblies 16, 18 (see Fig. 1, a top plan view), one arm assembly being provided for each side of the pusher. The lower arm assembly 16 comprises a primary arm 42 pivoted by a pin 52 to a secondary arm 44. The arm 42 is attached to a torque shaft 46, while the arm 44 is mounted on a post 54a with rollers 54b at either end received in channels 56, 58 secured to the pusher 14. The upper arm assembly 18 is similarly constructed, the upper and lower arm assemblies 18, 16 being interconnected by a pivot 78. A link 80 serves to centre the pusher 14 on the arms 44, 62. The arm structures are folded and unfolded by a pair of hydraulic rams 86, 88 operated simultaneously and respectively acting on torque shafts 46, 68 through cranks 94, 100. All the primary and secondary arms 42, 44 and 60, 62 are of channel section and so arranged that the secondary arms 44, 62 can nest in the primary arms 42, 60, respectively, when the pusher 14 is retracted.
