Abstract
1,134,358. Two-part couplings. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP. 2 June, 1967 [6 June, 1966], No. 25613/67. Heading H2E. [Also in Division H1] An R.F. filter assembly comprising a tubular capacitor having an inductor inserted therein is secured within an electrical connector body to receive a connector terminal. The filter assembly 10 comprises a ceramic tube 12 on the outside surface of which is formed an electrically conductive coating, Fig. 4 (not shown), forming one capacitor plate and being grounded. The inner surface of tube 12 is provided with a pair of axially spaced conductive coatings (not shown) which form capacitive plates in co-operation with the outer coating and which are connected to eyelets 18 and extend on to the ends of the tube 12 and on to the outer surface adjacent the ends. Inductor cores 14 provided with aligned apertures are inserted in the tube and provide the inductance of a pi-section filter. A terminal 16 passes through the tube and is frictionally engaged by the flexible fingers 18a of eyelets 18. In Fig. 5 a combined terminal and filter assembly is installed in a connector body bore 34 extending through a body formed of front and rear insulator plates 36, 38 and a ground plane 40, the outer conductive coating of the filter assembly 10 being electrically connected to ground plane 40 by a grounding spring 42. Connector terminal 44 is inserted in the filter assembly and is retained in the connector body by clip 46, the rear of the terminal 44 being formed with a socket 50 for connection to wire 52.
