Abstract

1,134,247. Stud and socket fasteners. VAUXHALL MOTORS Ltd. 8 June, 1967 [7 July, 1966], No. 30467/66. Heading E2B. A fastener stud 1 of synthetic resin material for press-fitting into a hole in a support, has an unsplit hollow shank 3, the external surface of which, from one end thereof towards the other changes progressively from circular in a first radial plane to maximum ovality in a second radial plant and back to circular in a third radial plane and then to maximum ovality in a fourth radial plane and back to circular in a fifth radial plane; and the hollow of the shank of which extends through the length of the stud. Between the first and third and third and fifth radial planes, the surface forms projecting shoulders 6, 8 to enable two articles 11, 12 to be engaged by the stud as shown. The shoulders 6 can be angularly displaced relative to the shoulders 8.
