1,133,650. Reactive dyeing. FARBWERKE HOECHST A.G. 30 Dec., 1966 [31 Dec., 1965], No. 58365/66. Heading DIB. Cellulosic materials and cellulose/polyester mixtures are dyed with reactive and mixtures of reactive and disperse dyes respectively. The dyeing is effected at above 95‹C in the presence of an alkali metal polyphosphate and an alkaline reacting agent. Examples of polyphosphates are sodium tripolyphosphate, sodium tetrapolyphosphate, sodium octapolyphosphate and corresponding potassium compounds. Preferably the dyeing is effected at 100-140‹C, the pH of the bath being 9-11.5 at the start reducing to below 8.5 as dyeing proceeds, due to hydrolysis of the polyphosphates.
Process for the dyeing of cellulose fibres with reactive dyestuffs or of mixtures of cellulosic and polyester fibres with reactive and dispersion dyestuffs
