Abstract
1,131,656. Hair clamp. INDOHEEM N.V. 23 June, 1966 [23 June, 1965], No. 28227/66. Heading A4V.- In a hair clamp of the type which can be heated on a heated tube and subsequently placed on a roller with the hair coiled thereon consisting of two hinged parts of synthetic plastics material 1 and 2, each containing a metal plate 7 (to give better thermal conductivity) covered on the inside by a coating of the synthetic plastic material, the parts being pressed together by a spring 3 and being provided with means for opening the clamp, the metal plate is constructed with projections or legs 11 which project inwardly through the layer of synthetic material and end at a short distance beyond the layer of synthetic material, serving to give more rapid heat transfer to the plate. Preferably the thickness of the plate is at least equal to the thickness of the synthetic plastics material between the plate and the inner surface of the clamp and the legs are located at the ends of the clamp. The handles 4 and 5 for opening the clamp may be hinged at the lower end of the clamp (remote from hinge 6) and are adapted to fold back against the outside of the corresponding parts 1 and 2 of the clamp and to be retained in this position by the spring 3.
