Abstract

1,130,317. Making cutters for dry shavers. E. PAYER, [trading as PAYER-LUX]. 2 March, 1966 [28 July, 1965], No. 9183/66. Heading B3A. [Also in Division B4] A cutting head for dry shavers comprises cutters 1 mounted in slots 4 in a support 2 by adhesion, soldering or spot-welding, the support consisting of two or more bridge members 3 joined by terminal flanges 6. The support may be made of a pressure die casting of, for example, aluminium and the slots may be produced by circular milling. Preferably, the cutters are introduced into the slots with clearance and fixed with an adhesive which remains elastic after it has solidified; suitable adhesives include epoxy resins and synthetic rubber such as silicone rubber. Projections 7 beneath one of the bridge members are for mounting helical springs, projections 8 are for co-operating with an actuator and projections 9 are for clamping the head in a sharpening device.
