1,130,155. Textile treating apparatus. ARTOS Dr. ING. MEIR-WINDHORST, K.G. 28 Jan., 1966 [5 Feb., 1965], No. 3871/66. Heading D1L. A process for fibre-fixing or dye-fixing synthetic fibre textiles on drums or cylinders comprises a treatment in which the material is either heated to the fibre-fixing temperature; or is heated and maintained for a; period alt the dye-fixing temperature, whereby the fixing on one side of the material is completed, followed by a treatment on the opposite side of the material at the appropriate fixing temperature for a pre-determined period of between “ and ¢ of the period - of the firstmentioned treatment. Preferably a heated fluid is passed through the material. Apparatus for carrying out the process may comprise two vacuum drums, the ratio of the diameter of the first drum to that of the second drum being 2-4:1. Alternatively, the material may pass round three vacuum drums, contacting them alternately on opposite sides, the drums being of equal diameters and heating and fixing taking place on the first two drums, and further fixing on the third drum.
