Abstract

1,129,999. Releasable fastenings. BUTTONS Ltd. 24 Oct., 1966 [30 Nov., 1965], No. 50873/ 65. Headings E2A and E2B. A buckle for adjustably connecting a brace 30 to a garment portion 32 comprises an eye plate 12 having an eye 16 for receiving the brace therethrough, a cranked clamping plate 13 pivotally mounted on the eye plate so that a first arm 22 of the clamping plates serves to clamp a part of the brace against the eye plate, and a hook 14 pivotally mounted on the eye plate or on a second arm of the clamping plate remote from the first arm. In the construction shown the hook 14 is pivoted to the eye plate and it engages an eye 33 connected to the garment portion 32. The hook is provided with a dimple which forms a projection between the two adjacents jaws of the hook to retain the eye 33 in position.
