Abstract

1,129,487. Valves. W. J. STOKVIS' KONINKLIJKE FABRIEK VAN METAALWERKEN N.V. 17 May, 1967 [31 March, 1967], No. 22876/67. Heading F2V. The closure member of a liquid flow cut off valve is provided with a rubber disc 3 that seats on the end of a spigot 5 and a skirt 2 arranged so that the direction of the liquid is twice reversed (see arrows) as it flows through the valve. Thus the velocity of flow and therefore the noise generated is reduced without throttling.
