Abstract

1,129,258. Paraphase amplifiers; phase shifters. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 6 Sept., 1967 [13 Sept., 1966], No. 40828/66. Heading H3T. A paraphase amplifier comprises a field-effect transistor having equal source and drain resistances. When an R.C. or L.C. circuit is connected across the output of such an amplifier a phase-shift circuit results. Fig. 4 shows three such circuits cascaded for greater phase-shift, the output being taken through a Darlington emitter-follower circuit (not shown). N-type depletion-mode transistors are used in Fig. 4, and the individual gate-biasing resistors Rbb may be replaced by a single resistor from the gate of the first stage to the drain of the last (Fig. 5, not shown). When using enhancementmode transistors these biasing resistors are returned to the drain instead of the source (Figs. 6 and 7, not shown). P-type devices can also be used.
