Abstract

1,129,148. Plucking poultry. GAINESVILLE MACHINE CO. Inc. 19 Oct., 1965, No. 44189/65. Heading A2U. In plucking feathers from poultry, the poultry N conveyed by conveyer 201, is acted upon by rotating flexible rubber fingers 125, 125<SP>1</SP> and 127. The fingers 125, 125<SP>1</SP> are mounted on a plurality of discs 123, 123<SP>1</SP> respectively, the discs rotating about axes extending towards the path of travel of the poultry, in the same or opposite directions. The fingers 127 are arranged on a plurality of drums rotatable about an axis substantially parallel to the path of the travel of the poultry, the drums preferably rotating alternately in opposite directions. The frames A. B. C on which the fingers are mounted are adjustable up and down the frame D. The frames A and B are movable laterally and longitudinally of each other.
