Abstract

1,128,779. Converters. LICENTIA PATENTVERWALTUNGS-G.m.b.H. 3 Dec., 1965 [6 Jan., 1965], No. 51422/65. Heading H2F. A converter has a series resonant circuit in series in its A.C. side, which presents a low impedance at operating frequencies, but a high impedance to pulse currents due to valve failure. In order to de-tune the resonant circuit, and present a high impedance, in the event of excess current, either the inductor may be saturable, Fig. 1 (not shown), or the capacitor may be shunted by a saturable inductor in series with a resistor, Fig. 2 (not shown).
