[Also in Division B4] Apparatus for separating packages 8 from a foil web 7 leaving an automatic forming, filling and sealing machine comprises a roller 4 resiliently urged against a roller 3 which is formed on its peripheral surface with recesses from which project knife edges 5 and 6, the length of each cutting edge 6 corresponding to the length of the package to be separated, the length of each cutting edge 5 exceeding the width of the package to be cut and the circumferential speed of the cutting edges being greater than the rate at which the web is fed. The roller 3 is provided with supporting discs 9 for taking up the contact pressure exerted by the roller 4.
