Abstract

1,128,169. Fluid-pressure brakes; cylinders. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. 8 Sept., 1965 [9 Sept., 1964], No. 38333/65. Headings F2F and F2T. In a fluid actuator for compressed air of vacuum brakes of motor vehicles, two pistons 5, 6 are connected in tandem upon a common piston-rod 4 and are movable by differences in pressure and arranged in separate cylinders 2 and 1 respectively, the cylinders being arranged one inside the other with an annular space therebetween and being detachably connected at their rims to one another and to a sealing partition 3, the inner cylinder 2 being formed with a radial flange 9 bearing against a shoulder. 8 at the end of the outer cylinder 1 and held by the sealing partition 3 which is detachably secured to the rim of the outer cylinder, an elastic sealing ring 14 being inserted between the flange of the inner cylinder and the sealing partition. The inner cylinder 2 is mounted on a cylindrical shoulder 10 of the sealing partition 3 and the periphery of the latter is located within the open end 7 of the outer cylinder 2 and is held by a ring 11 having lugs 12 inserted into slots 13 in the open end 7 of the outer cylinder 1. The chamber in front of the piston 6 in the cylinder 1 is in communication with the chamber in front of the piston 5 in the inner cylinder 2 through orifices 15 in the front region of the inner cylinder 2. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,038,857.
