Abstract

1,127,829. Electric time-pieces. CENTRE ELECTRONIQUE HORLOGER S.A. Sept. 13, 1966 [Sept.13, 1965; July 15, 1966], No.40966/66. Heading G3T. An electronic time-piece comprises an electrically maintained resonator 1 which drives the time-piece movement by means of a pawl 6 acting on a ratchet wheel 18, a cage independent of the movement cage bearing the ratchet wheel and being secured to the resonator. The independent cage is formed by two bridges 7, 8 linked by a screw 9 and two positioning pins 10,11 and is secured to the foot 1a of the resonator by means of screws 13, 14. Screws 2, 3, 4 secure the foot of the resonater to the plate 5 of the movement. A lever 15 is pivoted at 16 in the cage and bears a stop pawl 17 at its extremity 15a. The ratchet wheel 18 has 240 teeth and is mounted on a shaft of a five toothed cam 19 which periodically drives an arm 20 of a lever 21, the end 21a of which supports a pawl 22. The pawl 22 drives a second ratchet wheel 23, the pinion 24 of which drives a seconds wheel 25. The pawl 6 is attached to one arm of the resonator which vibrates at a frequency of 480 c/s thereby causing the lever 21 to oscillate at a frequency of 10 c/ s. In a second embodiment the ratchet wheel 18 is rigid with a magnetized polar wheel which magnetically drives a second polar wheel the pinion of which rotates an intermediate wheel to drive the dial train. Figs. 4-7 (not shown) illustrate the construction and arrangements of the bearings for the shafts of the magnetic wheels.
