Abstract

1,127,156. Photographic processing. MARK SYSTEMS Inc. April 20, 1966, No.17279/66. Heading G2A. Exposed film A passes from a camera D into a first magazine E which is detachably secured to a second magazine F. Magazine E contains two spools 23, 28 having respective slots 22, 29 therein, so that with the spools stationary and correctly orientated, the film passes straight through the slots. Along the film path between the spools is positioned a cutter 61. From magazine E the film passes via slotted members 33, 34 into magazine F where it is wound on to a spool B in contact with a further strip C which is supplied from a spool 40. Strip C is a mat of material impregnated with a developing solution, so that development of the film A takes place when film A and mat C are wound in contact round spool B, as in the process described in U.S. Specification 3,299,790. If it is desired to remove the film wound on spool B, it is served by cutter 61, and wound completely into magazine F, which is then detached from magazine E. Members 33, 34 can be rotated to act as light seals. At the same time, spool 23 is set in rotation by a motor, so that film continuing to be supplied from the camera is wound thereon. Alternatively, it may be desired to wind the exposed film from magazine F back into magazine E. In this case the film is severed as before, and both spools 23 and 28 set in rotation. Spool 23 takes up the film entering from the camera as before, and the film from spool B is wound back on to spool 28. At the same time the processed positive mat material C is re-wound on to spool 40 and can be removed by detaching magazine F.
