Abstract

1,126,850. Rollers. TOKYO SHIBAURA DENKI K.K. 19 May, 1967 [10 Sept., 1966], No. 23499/67. Heading F2U. [Also in Division C1] A roller comprising a cylinder 6 fast with a shaft 1 is cooled by liquid supplied through an axial inlet passage 2 to passages provided between vanes 7d which are provided between core members 7 rotating with the roller. The coolant then passes through the annular space between the cores and the cylinder, and through radial grooves 9 in the cores to ducts 10 and radial openings 11 leading to an outlet passage 3. As a modification the two cores may be replaced by a single member having a plurality of centrally disposed passages. A pair of such rollers may be employed as feed rollers in a ribbon type glass bulb blowing machine to form a ribbonshaped glass blank from molten glass supplied thereto.
