Angle-measuring appliances; protractors. - A course indicator for use on maps and charts comprises a transparent rectangular member 1 to which is pivoted a protractor circle 5 carrying a pivoted graduated radius arm 9, the pivot 4 on which the circle is mounted being eccentric. The circle 5 has marked on it a radial line 6 in a direction passing through the North point of the circle 5 and through the zero of a graduated arc for use in setting the circle according to the magnetic declination with respect to the member 1, which carries an index-mark 3. The circle 5 has a part 7 cut out and the arm 9 is slotted at 15, the rings by which the latter is pivoted having corresponding openings.
