Abstract

104,405. Monk, R., and Neville, C. R. March 23, 1916. Levels; clinometers. -An instrument for measuring and indicating angles, which may he connected to shafts and thus used for set. ting valves, cranks, cams, eccentrics, &c., in their correct angular relationship, of the kind which consists of a level-indicator such as a pendulum and a rotatable disk, is provided with a straight-edge 9 which is connected to a rotatable lever 3, being preferably at right-angles thereto. The lever 3 carries a fiducial mark which is made to register with a pointer 6 carrying the pendulum. Pins 5 on the lever 3 act as stops for the pointer. By means of the straight-edge 9, the zero mark, as well as lines corresponding with desired positions of valves &c., may be drawn upon the disk or upon a chart carried thereby. The disk may have a permanent zero mark.
