Collapsible portable buildings are formed of sector-shaped components 1 (in plan) which extend from an upper central vertical axis to the ground (Figs. 3 and 6, not shown) or to a lower central vertical axis (Fig. 13, not shown) to form a generally cylindrical building, as shown, a bell-tent shaped building (Fig. 6) or an onion-shaped building (Fig. 13). The components are arranged to fold within each other, and are of metal, wood, plastics or plastics laminate. Doors and windows 5 and 6 may be provided in an end in fill panel 4 (as shown), or as at 7 in the components. The components may move peripherally or via rollers (Figs. 9, 10, not shown) contacting a circular track, or a boom 28 (Fig, 10) may carry all the components via a single roller on a spiral track, the boom being attachable to each of the components in turn. The edges of the components have flanges projecting at right angles therefrom to engage similar flanges on the adjacent components (Figs. 14-18, not shown), and flexible inner linings may be arranged inside each component, (Fig. 19, not shown). Two buildings may be arranged in one container (Fig. 22, not shown).
