Abstract

1,122,964. Drawer runners. K. H. GUTNER. 25 April, 1967 [14 Sept., 1966], No. 19070/67. Heading A4B. A C-section drawer runner 16 is secured centrally to the bottom 15 of the drawer (10) and includes a rear end, upwardly bent, flared tab 27 integrally connected by a neck 29 to the runner 16 and formed with slots (28) to receive staples 17 driven into a depending portion of the drawer's rear wall (14), and a front end lug 30 with holes 33 to receive staples 18 driven into the drawer bottom 15, the lug 30 being fitted into a front wall groove beneath the bottom 15 and having a bent out tab 31 located in a central recess 19 in the front wall 11. The runner 16 fits over a guide (26) fixed to the drawer housing and has indentations 35 which frictionally grip the guide (26) when the drawer is in the closed position. The runner 16 has parallel reinforcing ribs 36 at its rear end. The runner 16 may incorporate silicone for easier sliding.
