Abstract

1,122,330. Borehole casing. KALIUM CHEMICALS Ltd. 22 Dec., 1966 [28 Dec., 1965], No. 57404/66. Heading E1F. The level of termination of the foot of a borehole casing in a subterranean cavity may be varied from a control position at the upper end of the casing by longitudinally tensioning a resilient tube having a dependant pipe, the tube being secured in the lower end of the casing and having in an unstressed condition an external diameter greater than the bore of the casing. The longitudinal tensioning of the tube causes a reduction in the diameter thereof so that the tube looses adhesion with the casing and may be adjusted axially of the casing before being re-locked to the casing when tensioning ceases.
