Abstract

1,121,944. Making needles. B. BRAUN K.G. 18 Jan., 1967 [7 Feb., 1966], No. 2610/67. Heading B3A. [Also in Division D1] An eyless needle is made by shaping a tube to a closed point portion. The surgical needle shown is made by cold hammering one end of a tube into conical form ending in a point 2 which is finished off by grinding, and by cold hammering the other end into frusto-conical form 4 having an opening just large enough to admit a suture 5, part 4 then being closed on the suture by pressure.
