Abstract

Apparatus for etching curved plates comprises rotatable paddles in contact with the etching liquid, a mandrel supporting a plate and rotatable about a horizontal axis, and a pair of secondary paddles one on each side of and slightly higher than the mandrel, each comprising two fins with their outer edges slightly bent in the direction of rotation and rotating so as to move towards the mandrel on the lower part of their path of rotation, so as to splash liquid received from the lower paddles against the upper part of the plate. In another form, Fig. 3, the mandrel 150 is rotated by a shaft 140 and is mounted on a bracket 139 rotated by a hollow shaft 138.
