Abstract

112,027. Tribolet, H. Clare-. Dec. 15, 1916, [Convention date]. Envelopes. - An envelope has the front portion smaller than the back portion, so that the latter projects beyond the former, and is so arranged that when the envelope is closed a portion of the contained letter is visible. Fig. 1 shows an envelope having a back portion 2 extending beyond the front portion 1. When the letter has been inserted in the pocket formed by the parts 1 and 2, the flaps 3, 4, 7, and 8 are stuck thereon, a part of the enclosure being visible through the opening 13. A postage stamp may be placed at 14, and is thus stuck to both the envelope and the enclosure, the postmark appearing on the latter. In an alternative construction, the envelope may be closed by means of a strip of paper, provided with an opening or a transparent portion, and stuck, for example, to the back of the letter and to the front 1 of the envelope.
