Abstract

Bright level electrolytic deposits of tin are produced from acid tin baths containing as an additive cyclohexyl sulphamate, typically in a concentration of 0.1 to 1 g/l, at a temperature of 25 DEG to 35 DEG C. with a current density of 1 to 3 amps. / sq.dm. A suitable acid tin bath comprises per litre 50 to 100 g stannous sulphate, 20 to 50 ml.conc. sulphuric acid, and 10 to 50 g o-cresolsulphonic acid.
