An ice-cream freezer comprises a casing 1 enclosing a double-walled freezing container 8 the inner surface 7 of which is in the form of a surface of revolution, a helically ribbed member 12 freely resting in container 8, and a cover 2 which is hinged to the casing 1 and supports a shaft 21, the shaft and member 12 being formed with respective teeth 26, 19 which inter-engage when the cover 2 is closed. Shaft 21 is hollow and contains a tube 30 through which icecream mix is pumped from container 29, member 12 being formed with impeller blades 17 which draw air through shaft 21 and supply the mixed air and mix to the freezing container 8.
