Abstract

Novel triazolium salts having the formula <FORM:1118426/C2/1> in which R1 denotes an alkyl radical or an aryl radical which may be substituted, R2 denotes a hydrogen atom or R1, provided that R2 does not denote a methyl radical, or R1 and R2 together form a 5- to 7-membered ring, R3 denotes a C1-C6 alkyl group and R4 denotes an aromatic radical, or R3 and R4 together form a 5- or 6-membered unsaturated heterocyclic ring derived from the corresponding aromatic heterocyclic compound, and X#Q is the equivalent of an onion of a strong acid, are obtained by reacting O - alkylnitrosimmonium salts, [R2CH2NR1=N=OR1]+X#Q, in which R1 denotes an alkyl group, with imino compounds of the formula R3-N=CHR4. The compounds have physiological activity and are useful as plant-protection agents.
