Abstract

1,118,279. Dressing comb. G. D. L. CAMPBELL (A. Abraham). 11 April, 1967, No. 16401/67. Heading A4V. A dressing comb comprises two movable sets of teeth which are relatively movable to vary the width of the gaps defined between the teeth of the two sets. The comb comprises a stable set of teeth 2 having a recess 4, into which the back 5 of the movable set of teeth 2 is inserted. By moving the set of teeth 2, which are held in longitudinal slots 8 by the heads 9 of pins 10, projecting from the back 3, of the stable set of teeth 1, the width of the gaps between its teeth 6 and the teeth 7 of the stable set can be altered. In other forms of the comb (a) the stable set of teeth may have a longitudinal groove in which the pins secured to the movable set of teeth may move, or (b) the movable set of teeth may have two parallel back frames joined by the legs of U-shaped teeth, the back frames moving in recesses on either side of the stable set of teeth so that the teeth of the stable set are straddled by the U-shaped teeth.
