Abstract

1,118,136. Hygrometers, electrical. TEDDINGTON AIRCRAFT CONTROLS Ltd. Nov. 11, 1966 [Nov. 11, 1965], No.47904/65. Headings G1N and G1S. A hygrometer for use in measuring and controlling humidity comprises a cylindrical casing 1 with a humidity sensing element 2 at one end thereof, an air filter 3 surrounding the sensing element, an inlet port 4 provided adjacent the end at which the sensing element is disposed, and a motor driven fan 6 disposed at or adjacent the other end of the casing and operable to direct air through the filter, through or over the sensing element and out of the casing through an outlet port 7. In the embodiment described the filter is cylindrical and the inlet ports extends circumferentially around the casing. Means for converting the signal of the sensing element may be mounted on the transverse wall 8 of the casing. The signal from the sensing element may be converted into an indicating form by an amplifier or miniaturized electronic measuring equipment mounted on a wall 8.
