Abstract

Novel tetrahydropyridine derivatives of the formula <FORM:1117807/C2/1> where R is a C1-C6 alkyl or C3-C9 cycloalkyl radical and where the benzene rings may be substituted by C1-C6 alkyl, C1-C6 alkoxy or trifluoromethyl groups or halogen atoms, are prepared by reacting the corresponding 3-benzoyl - 4 - phenyl - 1,2,3,6 - tetrahydropyridine with hydrazine and decomposing the 3-benzoyl-4-phenyl tetrahydropyridine hydrazone so formed, with alkali. The compounds may be converted to their acid addition salts.
