Abstract
1,117,569. Grinding. TECHNISCHE UNIVERSITAT DRESDEN. 25 Nov., 1966, No. 52927/66. Heading B3D. A device for the machining of a trochoidal copying template 1 comprises a shaft 6 having an eccentric on which is a pinion 4 engaging an internally toothed wheel 5 in a housing 3 concentric with the shaft 6, the pinion being concentrically connected with a table 2 for the template. The template is machined by a grinding wheel 12 on a stationary axis. The table 2 is supported by balls 7 in a cage 8 between eccentric rings 9, 10 the balls running on the surface of the housing 3 which is formed with the internally-toothed gear 5. The ratio of the gearing is 1 : 2 so that as the shaft 6 rotates the table in a circular path in one direction, the table is rotated about the eccentric in the opposite direction and the template is formed with a trochoidal shape. The template is used in a machine for forming the trochoidal sliding surface in the housing of a rotary piston engine.
