Abstract

111,675. Withycombe, R. M. Dec. 1, 1916, [Convention date]. Teeth, artificial.-The root portion or base of an artificial tooth 10 to be mounted on a resilient pad 12 of soft rubber &c. is roughened by baking or fusing sheet metal or metal filings 11 thereon so as to give greater adhesion between the porcelain and the resilient pad. An aperture 18 is provided in the tooth, or in its socket, or in the soft-rubber pad so as to give greater resiliency. In the form shown, the tooth is mounted in a socket or collar 13 having an integral or loose base 17. When loose, the base 17, which may be formed of hard rubber, is held in place by clips 15. Tags 16 assist in retaining the tooth as a whole in the denture. Specification 25028/13 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) refers also to teeth perforated or roughened in any suitable manner. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
