Abstract
1,116,572. Non-metallic pipes. DUNLOP CO. Ltd. 14 July, 1966 [30 July, 1965], No. 32582/65. Heading F2P. In a method of making lined piping the lining is built by forming a tube of ebonite or elastomeric material, such as natural, butyl or neoprene rubber, around a rigid mandrel, vulvanizing the tube and coating the tube with a bonding agent, and then applying to the tube a reinforced synthetic resin composition. The lining may be in sheet form and wrapped around the mandrel, and the reinforced outer layer may comprise polyester resin and chopped strand glass mat, one or more helically or spirally wrapped layers of woven glass cloth each coated with polyester resin; or resin coated glass filaments. Flanges are built up at the ends of the piping.
