Abstract

1,116,457. Extracting tools. SCHMIEDETOTO STANZWERKE HALVER G.m.b.H. 26 May, 1966 [15 June, 1965], No. 23642/66. Heading B4C. A device for extracting the connectors 3 from the link pins 2 of track links 1 such as used in tracks for an armoured vehicle, comprises an impact mandrel 5 having a prismatic-shaped portion 5b adapted to be passed through a similar shaped opening 4a in a chain-guiding tooth 4, the device being provided with a, preferably, detachable support 6 and a working head portion 5d. As shown, the support 6 is formed by two wedges arranged to extend across to adjacent links, the wedges being connected to the mandrel by means of a chain; alternatively the support may be in the form of a block having an opening through which the portion 5 passes and a rib (7b, Fig. 10) adapted to fit the gap between two links. In a further modification the support may be secured, as by welding, to the mandrel. In use the end 5a of the mandrel is struck by a hammer.
