Abstract

111,619. Hall, B. J. April 12, 1917. Printing processes; printing in several colours; printing-surfaces.-Plans, drawings, or the like are copied in colours by gelatinous copying-composition by combining the two known processes of inking-up and the aniline die or hektographic process. A suitable composition such as 20 parts of gelatine, 60 parts of water, and 1 part of ferrous sulphate, is prepared with parts of the plan or design such as the outlines by a special ink or by a blue print as in the well known " Ordoverax " process or any other known process, so that it may be inked up with printers' ink in these parts. It is also prepared on other parts that are to be coloured with aniline dies in one or more colours. This may be done by transfer from a blue print itself coloured with aniline colours in the required parts, or by other suitable means. In printing, the surface is inked up, the ink adhering only to the prepared outlines &c., so that the prints receive this ink and also the aniline colours at the same impression.
