Abstract

1,115,991. Transistor delayed switching circuits. J. HAYES, and D. J. D. BROWN. 9 Feb., 1966 [10 Feb., 1965], No. 5822/65. Heading H3T. [Also in Division G1] Vehicle lighting control apparatus has a photo-electric cell responsive to light and a trigger operated thereby including feedback means such that the light level at which the trigger means changes state is greater for increasing light levels than for decreasing light levels. The light-sensitive cell is a cadmium sulphide resistor 1 and is connected to a twostage transistor amplifier, the second transistor 5 having as its collector load a relay coil (13, Fig. 1, not shown) or (as shown in Fig. 2) a resistor 16 forming part of a transistor driver stage for relay 13. A capacitor 11 causes a delay between reception of light by the resistor 1 and actuation of the relay. The release level for the relay is much lower than the trigger level due to the presence of resistor 12 which introduces voltage feedback.
