Abstract
1,115,094. Textile treating apparatus. H. FLEISSNER, H. FLEISSNER & G. FLEISSNER (trading as ANSTALT FUER PATENTDIENST). 30 Dec., 1965 [20 Jan., 1965], No. 55180/65. Heading D1L. Apparatus for the continuous liquid treatment of synthetic filament groups e.g. tows, comprises a plurality of liquid treatment troughs 1 arranged one behind the other and preferably also in tier-like rows, at least one roller 4, 5 being provided at the intake and delivery end of each trough and a pair of squeeze rollers 8, 9 being provided at the delivery end of each trough outside the treating liquid, at least each guide roller at the delivery end of each trough being partly immersed to form a wedge of liquid between the roller and the material. The guide rollers 4, 5 and the troughs are preferably supported on the squeeze roller supports 2. All rollers are supported for easy replacement. An overflow 10, preferably adjustable in height, is provided at the delivery end of each trough to provide liquid movement in the direction of material travel; each overflow discharges into a pipe (11), Fig. 2 (not shown), for exchanging liquid between the troughs. The delivery end of each trough is extended below the associated pair of squeeze rollers so that excess liquid is returned to the trough. The apparatus is provided with a lining (20) having extracting devices (21) Fig. 3 (not shown) for gases and vapours, the lining being cut away to provide access for the rollers.
