Abstract

1,114,471. Teaching apparatus. K. HOLLING. 8 July, 1965 [8 April, 1964], No. 14427/64. Heading G5G. A teaching apparatus comprises monitor units MU, one for each student, each connected electrically to a separate 12-way connector 35 on a control consul CO. The control consul includes six selector switches 21 corresponding to possible answers A-F, and the monitor units each comprise a corresponding set of six answer switches 7. A question and six possible answers are presented to a group of students, e.g. by means of a slide projector and screen. The teacher sets each selector switch to one of three positions g (green), a (amber), r (red) indicating that the answer is correct, almost correct, or incorrect respectively. When a student selects his answer by depressing a switch 7, an appropriate (green, amber or red) lamp 9 on the unit and a corresponding lamp 19 on the consul are illuminated. The control consul further includes a percentage meter 38 which indicates the percentage of correct answers.
