Abstract
111,410. Margreth, J. March 19, 1917. Liquid raised up to solid: regulating head of liquid directly.-Relates to acetylene-generators of the type described in Specification 9373/14 in which carbide-containers g, h are inserted in openended tubes c, d in a fixed or floating gas-bell b, the upper ends of the container being connected by flexible pipes n, n<1> or by pipes with unions with the interior of the gas-bell and their lower ends open. To prevent after-generated gas passing between the containers and the tubes c, d, the lower ends of the containers have projecting tubes i, k which, during insertion, pass down projecting passages on the tubes c, d, or the tubes are inclined, and the carbide-containers project at the lower ends beyond the tubes c, d and the ends of the tubes are cut off in vertical planes. The gas cocks o, p<1> are preferably provided with long levers which rest, when the cocks are open, on the bells g, h, so that the bells cannot be withdrawn until the cocks are closed.
