Abstract

1,114,050. Transistor amplifying circuits. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTONGS G.m.b.H. 31 Dec., 1965 [23 Jan., 1965], No. 55398/65. Headings H3T and H4R. A multistage transistor amplifier is protected against surges at its input or output by means of diodes D 1 , D 5 of low barrier-layer capacitance, the diode D 1 being connected between the base of the input transistor TS 1 and the earth line and the diode D 5 between the collector of the output transistor TS 2 and earth line, both diodes being biased in the non-conductive direction. In addition, there is connected across the second diode a further diode D 7 of low barrier-layer capacitance in series with, but opposition to, a voltage stabilizing e.g. Zener diode D 6 so poled as to be biased in the backward direction. The arrangement is more particularly intended for use with carrier frequency line amplifiers operated by means of D.C. sent over the line (Fig. 1, not shown), in which case protection may be improved by dividing any equalization into two networks VE, NE connected respectively before and after the amplifier.
